5K & worn out!

So I am happy to report that I completed a 5K and didn't die! Wooohoooo!
I wanna say it was the best thing I've ever done but that would be a wee bit of a fib. It was hard and a bit miserable training and running so much since I am NOT a runner but it did give me a sense of accomplishment. My friend Aarin helped me train and we worked hard leading up to the race. It was great motivation running with her not because she kicked my butt every time (yes...yes...everytime!) but because I am way to stubborn and prideful to wuss out when running with someone else. Even though it was really hard for me, it was really great to accomplish something like this.

So the night before we had a big CARB-fest with the Aarin and her family to get ready for the race which was fun. Aarin and Kameron's kids just happen to be my kids bestest friends! :)
We collaborated together and had chicken fettuccine alfredo with bread sticks and salad. It was yummy! The kids loved having a picnic with their friends Karson & Konner.
The next morning we got up bright and early with butterfly nerves. Yikes. Todd was working a grave shift and didn't get off work till the start of the race so I had to get all three kids up and ready and out the door. We drove over and picked up my sister Brandi. She was going to help watch kids and take pictures just in case Todd wasn't there. He ended up making it there right before the race started.
I ran the race and actually beat my personal goal which was a surprise to me. I think this was possible because I kept thinking in my head...."keep running Christy.....pick it up....don't embarrass yourself in front of all these people....just keep running...." :)
My time was 30.59 min.!! woohoooooooo!!! And other than my nerd-O running skills, I made it with out eating pavement or embarrassing myself somehow.

Getting our numbers and shoe tags on so our times can be recorded.
Here we all are about to race!
Tiffany(Aarin's sister-in-law), Florance (my neighbor & primary pal), me, Tiffany (Aarin's sister), and Aarin (my friend & neighbor) Here's me ready to go. (I am also silently praying that I don't pass out in the road along the way)
And we're OFF! Going underneath the green sign was the starting line. :)
Here are some of all our kids getting ready with their signs and gearing up to cheer on their moms!!
Coming into the FINISH line!! (I look like a dork when I run.)
My hubby and kids coming to give me congratulatory hugs!!
Here is all of us after the race. Ya can't tell but we are really hot & yucky sweaty & about to DIE.....ok so maybe just me. ;) Here's Ethan & Cambree with me holding up the signs they made with a little help from Aunt Brandi of course. Aarin was who I trained with from the get go and is who talked me into this madness!!

Cambree turns 3!

Cambree had a great birthday this year full of princess fun! She wanted a princess cake that she had seen at the grocery store. I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on one cake so I decided to get creative and this is what I ended up with. For having NO idea what I was doing I thought it turned out rather OK! Cambree loved it and that's what counts!
She loved opening her presents which included a Tinkerbell costume which was the only thing she asked for other her princess cake. Here are some of the party goersCambree tries on her Tinkerbell costume and is loving it!Her is Cambree with all her birthday loot!Cambree blows out the candles. This is Cambree trying to figure out how many fingers she has to hold up now. There ya go Cambree! Found Happiness!

01--I have a really great hubby! I love that he loves me SOOOO much! He thinks I am beautiful and strong and special.
02--My kids tell me sometimes that I am their BEST friend! Who doesn't want to be a 5 and 3 year old's best bud. I do.
03--I have some really GREAT friends who are loving and supportive and love me for ME!
04--I love my baby's giggle. It is so addicting.

Camping in American Fork Canyon

So we decided to take a camping trip this Spring! We hadn't ever taken Cambree camping and Ethan was just a baby last time we went and of course Adalynn hadn't been. Needless to say I was a bit nervous of the outcome. We went with some friends of ours Jared, Annie, and Ava. It turned out to be a lot of fun and wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. Before we left we loaded the car and loaded the kids. Ethan was stoked! He had heard from his friend Karson that when you go camping you get to pee outside. :) Cambree didn't know what camping was and was very cautious and begun to cry, saying, "I don't want to go campin...I don't like to do dat"! Our little crossover was packed to the fullest and we were on our way.
Cambree decided to be happy only after I told her that her little friend Ava was going with us. Adalynn was happy! She always is.Here is our friends Annie and Ava warming up by the fire. Cambree had one too many smores as you can tell by her face covered in marshmallow chocolate goo.

We went on a short hike. The kids of course found big sticks and loved it!!
Cambree kept moving the chairs around. Todd and Jared kept moving them so as to stay in the shade and this was not good. Cambree would go behind them and straighten them up. She is a little mommy in the works.Ethan passed time finding a collection of rocks and lining them up in a row. He was very particular about his rocks and how they lined up.
The kids and I explored our campspot!
The kids insisted eating lunch in the big camping chairs not the picnic table where it would be easier. nope. Kids always know best, according to a 4 year old and two 2 year olds that is.
Ethan, Cambree, and Ava dipping there hands in the water at the lake.
Here we are at the lake.

It's a goal!!

Ethan played soccer this spring for the first time and loved it! He was soooo cute and had soooo much fun! He made one goal this season which was AWESOME!! We didn't tell him though that it was in the wrong goal. He was too stoked that he had made a goal. Every time he even kicked the ball he would look to see if we were watching and say, " I got a kick!!! Did you see me kick it!?" This was his team minus two kids, I think. Coach Sims (in the yellow) was his coach and the guy in blue was his assistant coach and both of them were so great! His friend Karson was on his team too and they had so much fun playing on the same team together. Karson is sitting right next to Ethan. Ethan was #4. He picked that cuz he is 4 years old. :) His friend Karson was #2.After anyone on the team scored a goal they would all celebrate and congratulate that person. Here is Ethan celebrating with Karson about a goal that was made. Here is Ethan in the team huddle.
Here is Ethan being goalie. He really liked being goalie and was quite good at it. He stopped many balls from being scored. I think he didn't have to concentrate so much not to use his hands. He liked the idea that he could grab the ball away whith his hands and throw it. He liked wearing the specail goalie jersey too. Here is Ethan getting a few good kicks in the game. He was so proud of every kick he got.
Ethan And Karson trying to steal the ball awayfrom the other team. What grear team work! We just won't mention that they goofed off together most of the time. The coach even caught on and started putting them in at seperate times so they wouldn't get distracted playing with each other. They are good friends.Ethan's team ended up un-defeated the whole season! Wooohooo!!

Kids say the darndest----Knock it off!

So the other day, Ethan was having one of those days.
He was throwing a fit left and right. During one of his fits about who knows what, I was losing patience with him and said, "Ethan...You better knock it off or there will be serious consequences!!"
Cambree looked up at me and said with a grin, "hey mom....I am knockin it off."
I had to laugh....too funny!

Gotta love Mary Higgins Clark!

So I had the oppurtunity to meet one of my favorite authors the other day, Mary Higgins Clark! Her daughter Carol Higgins Clark who I love as well was there as well. Bonus! They did a little sit down interview with the two of them and then did a questions from the audience. It was fascinating to hear their stories. Loved it!

Of course there were a TON of people there so we waited in line a LONG while just to get autographs. I think we were in line a total of 4 hours! Ya.....seriously......what were we thinking. I went with my sister Brandi and two friends from my ward, Whitney and Kirsten.

Here we are waiting.

Still waiting.

We waited so long that we felt justified
asking to take a picture with them. Well...atleast I did! :)
And back to signing autographs. It was a great night even though we were all tuckered out at the end!

Antelope Island

So we took our kids out to Antelope Island the other day.
Ethan was quite amazed that there was water on both sides of the road and Cambree was happy pointing out every single "duck" she saw.....which were a combination of ducks and seagulls. But to her they were all ducks. It was such a beuatiful day.
They thought this metal buffalo was real cool.

We walked out to the beach and Ethan wondered off a bit and I turned around and he had dropped his drawers and was peeing on the rocks. He said he really had to go. I took a picture of his bare little bum but thought I'd better not post that one. :)

Ethan, Cambree and I took our shoes off and went wading in the water which they thought was awesome!

Then we brought Adalynn out to join the fun. I put here little toes in the water and she wasn't quite shure what was happening. But atleast she didn't cry.

Ethan and Cambree skipping rocks. Holding hands on the hike back. What a gentleman I am raising. Notice their wet bums. They didn't understand that when you bent down you had to also keep your bum up so they kept dippin their bums in the water.

Ethan wrote his name in the sand. He was very proud of this.

Some great shots I got from the day.
