My Little Thumb Sucker!

So Adalynn is determined to be a thumb sucker! Every time I see her sucking her thumb or fingers I pull em out. I turn around two seconds later and there she is again suckin away. Ethan and Cambree both didn't suck their thumbs or fingers so I haven't had experience with this yet and boy it's throwing me through a loop.

I have only heard bad things about thumb suckers so I have been very persistant to give her a binkie and not let her suck her thumb but to my dismay she finds a way. I give her a binkie and for the most part she is fine with it but if she loses it she finds her fingers or thumb! So at her doctor checkup I talked to the doctor about it and he advised me to just let her be. He said that the more a try to push her not to, the more she will need to fill that void and want to suck more and more. He said too, that usually by one year the start to grow out of it although I have heard horror stories about it lasting A LOT longer and becoming a very hard habit to break. But she seems to only suck her thumb or fingers when she is really tired and also when she wakes up she just finds her thumb till I come get her. So we will see how this plays out.

It's kinda nice sometimes when I can't get to her right away and she can self sooth herself by sucking her thumb. It also comes in handy when we are in public and she hardly gets fussy cuz she is suckin away! And I can't help but find it ADORABLE too!

I walk in every morning to get her and almost always find her like this. Then after she realizes I am there she unplugs and gives me the best little grin! She is so cute and such a GOOD baby!

After awhile of taking a few shots of her sucking her thumb and she unplugged and was grinning and I continued to get some cute shots of her. Then she got a little peeved after awhile of not picking her up and feeding her breakfast. Here's what happened next until I finally had mercy on her and put down the camera.

Here are some pictures of her that I took a couple of weeks ago sucking her two middle fingers. I totally forgot about her....(I know...Iknow...I'm not winning any mother of the year awards here!)....cuz I was just busy, busy, busy and she just found her little fingers and put herself for a nap in her swing. How adorable is that!
