Christmas 08!

Christmas was good to us this year! It was especially eventful because it was Adalynn's 1st Christmas. And of course she had no idea what the heck was going on. The kids woke up very excited to see what Santa brought them. Cambree woke up like it was just another day until Ethan filled her in and he had her at presents!
Santa brought Ethan a leapster lmax with games, Cambree recieved a dolly play set with a dolly, and Adalynn got a baby piano! Mom and dad got Ethan and Cambree some sleeping bag sets so they can, as Ethan says, "Have a campover!" Ethan is obsessed these days to have a "campover" with anyone! They also recieved some puzzle books. Adalynn got a cute polka dot dress for church and some other clothes!
Here's Daddy with the kids!
Here's Mommy with the kids!
Opeining presents!
Then we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Barton's House and had a big Christmas Breakfast which includes my most favorite thing ever...egg soufle! Thanks Vickie for making this every Christmas! It makes me happy! We also had cinnamin rolls and orange rolls which are more of my favorite things! Yummy! Then opening more presents! Grandma and Grandpa got each grandkid a special treasure chest to keep all their childhood treasures in.
Adalynn at this point totally zonked out. She was so tired she fell asleep in my lap.

It was a great day filled with my three favorite "F" words.....Food, Family, and Fun!!

Christmas Eve 08!

Christmas Eve was very eventful and tons of fun this year!
It all started on Christmas Eve going over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Christmas Eve Dinner. Everyone chipped in and boy was it yummy! The kids played and watched movies together. Here is Ethan and Caleb in the zone watching a movie.
Then Aunt Annie had planned an activity for the kids to make reindeer food to spread on the snow for the reindeer when santa comes to your house! The kids loved this! Cambree especially loved all the sparkles she put in hers.

Caleb, Kaden, Ethan, and Cambree making their reindeer food!

Then as tradition goes Grandma whipped out the chocolate fountain and we dipped everything from strawberries and rice krispie treats to marshmellows and bananas and much much more. You name it....we dipped it! The kids of course loved this portion of the night and as you can see got chocalote everywhere.
Here's Cambree licking the chocolate off her arm.
Then we all went downstairs and all the kids sat down while Grandma read them the Polar Express book and gave us all a bell to help us to remember to BELIEVE! Then Grandpa read the story of Jesus from the scriptures.

Then we all opened cousin presents and our Christmas Eve pajamas!

What cute kids in their jammies! Now let's go to bed!

Oh wait first we have to sprinkle the reindeer food. Now let's see what Santa leaves us!

Bauerle Christmas Party!

Todd's moms side of the family always has a Christmas party and it's always fun and you can always count on yummy food!
This year all the little 2nd cousins lined up and song a Christmas song and then Aunt Betty had them play a game, pin the star on the Christmas Tree, and then they got their presents to open.
The little kids didn't have to wear a blindfold so Cambree did somewhat well putting her little star on the tree.
Ethan was blindfolded and he missed the tree a bit but thought it he was so silly. He ended up putting his star almost exactly in the same place as the other cousin Ethan that is only a couple of months older than him.
Cambree of course loved her matching purse, earings and necklace. Ethan was stoked to get a slinky and a car.
Adalynn got a teething toy.
Big Thanks to Grandma for picking out such great little gifts!
Then all the adults played Christmas Family Fued which was a riot! We competed family against family and the Ken and Betty's family ended up being the family that won and now have some serious braggin rights! ha ha!
This is us with Great Grandma and Grandpa Bauerle.
It was a fun night and we enjoy it every year.

Does anyone have a pen?

The other day, Todd and I were talking and paying bills and such when Cambree comes walking into the room and looked like THIS.....!!!!

I immediately asked here how it happened. She replied, "Eee-sun DID IT!" (she can't say the 'th' sound.) Of course! She blames everything on Ethan. As he does her! Siblings. :) I called Ethan into the room and he comes walking in with the evidence in his hand and I asked him if he colored on Cambree. He replied, "No" with a very sheepish look. I looked down at the pen in his hand and asked, "What's that then?" He then had a panic look and racked his brain for a way out of this one. He replied, " Cambree told me to write on her mom!"

Oh boy! Todd of course laughs thinking this is so hilarious and giving Ethan false hope that he was not in trouble. They both got sent to time out! Here is a pic of them sitting in their timeout. Cambree is none to happy about this timeout but as you can see Ethan looks quite pleased with himself. He has never been bothered by timeout.

And yes...I realize neither of my kids has pants on. This is a typical day at the Barton's. No pants and in trouble! What a childhood! :)

Getting ready for Christmas!

Now that Thanksgiving is over we can now let Christmas begin. We decorated the house for Christmas. They had fun setting up the Christmas tree and hanging the stockings up. Todd was at work so it was just me and the kids. Adalynn was taking a nap. We had fun! I made the mistake of telling Ethan very specifically that we could not put up Christmas stuff until after Thansgiving. He is so enquizative and kept asking why. So I explained about how holidays work and that we have Thanksgiving first and when that is over then it will be time for Christmas. Ohhhhh. I think we drilled it enough times for him to catch on. So then the next time we went driving somewhere and someone had there Christmas lights on Ethan would shout..."Hey! Those guys are mean. They can't have Christmas lights on until after Thanksgiving!" Guess we didn't drill it very carefully. Now trying to explain that mommys rule about no Christmas till after Thanksgiving doesn't apply to the rest of the world is really throwing me for a loop. Ethan couldn't help it. Everywhere we went he would scuzz and proclaim that those people were mean and shouldn't have Christmas things up yet. What a funny kid! That's why he and I were delighted when it was finally time for Christmas.
As usual my kids think it's fun to wear stockings like they are socks.

And here they are checking the tree out. They were amazed at how you could see the lights through the middle too.

Ethan decided he wanted to take a swing at photography so he took over the camera and took a few shots. Here are a few of them.

Stockings are hung.

Cambree and mommy with our santa hats.

I really liked this one he captured of Cambree and I givin hugs and kisses!
And can't forget the Santa hats he got last year from getting his hand stuck in the escalater at the mall. He probably thinks that was probably the best thing he made out with from that little adventure.

Thanksgiving!

Ya that's right...I am posting finally about our Thansgiving and stuff. Better late than never!!

We had Thansgiving at my Grandma and Brandpa's House this year and included the whole shabang! Most of my aunts and Uncles and cousins and kids were there! It was such madness with l40+ people running around but such a great time too!! Sorry for those who couldn't come. We missed you! We especially missed Todd who had to work a 12 hour shift on Thanksgiving and couldn't come to the festivities.
We all, of course, made gumdrop turkey's which is tradition in our family. The kids had fun. Ethan was so proud of his turkey that he didn't feel right to eat it. He wanted to save it. Cambree on the other hand had no problems eating hers. She was eating it before it was done!
We had a very yummy feast thanks to everyone who chipped in and then just hung around all day to play and visit with everyone. My twinner cousin Micaela came up from Arizona with her kids and it was so great to see her as well as all the Arizona gang. Garner and Ethan were instant friends and then when Derek showed up they were the little "3 muskateers" playing and exploring. Cambree and Parker took awhile to warm up to each other but then after dinner they were huggin and kissin on the porch steps..hubba hubba! Adalynn was in heaven since there wasn't someone who disn't want to take a turn holding her. She had snuggles all day long and loved it!
Here is a slideshow of some of the fun times we had!

Say Cheese!

We went to the park and did some family pictures. My sis Brandi was our fabulous photographer for our family shots and then I took some of the kids goofin off at the park. So here some pics of us from that day and some updates on how the kids are doing! Ethan is 4 1/2 years old and is a burst of energy! He is loving preschool and is super smart! He has been writing his name since he was 3 but now knows how to write almost ever letter and numbers 1-9. He also keeps asking daddy to teach him to read! He loves playing games on the playstation and whips his mom at most games. He loves playing with his friends and is waiting for it to get warmer so he can ride his bike and scooter. His latest thing he does is he says, "I don't want to do that cuz it BORES me!" or "I want to do that cuz it won't bore me!" I don't know where he comes up with these things. He is a big helper around the house and is starting to do chores to earn things and sure helps me out sometimes. He is turning into quite the little gentleman opening doors for his mom and sisters and carrying groceries in. Cambree is 2 1/2 years old and is cute as a button with a side of sass! She loves playing with her dollies but even more lives every day decked out from head to toe as a princess! Everyday she has a dress, slippers, necklace, rings, crown and the whole shebang! She also has several wands that she calls her "bippity..bopity..boop!" She loves to pretend to use her wand to turn everything the way she wants. It's quite hilarious! She doesn't go a day without saying.."Mom...I love you!" at least five times a day to everyone! But sometimes she can get mad and whip out..."You stop it mom!" pointing her finger at me or she gives me her best scuzz and says," Uhhmm..I NOT like that!" She also does not like it when mom and dad snuggles. She will burrow her little head under daddy's arm and tries to wiggle in between us. She is so funny and keeps us laughing! Adalynn is 3 months in this picture and is growing like a weed! She is such a good baby and is loved very much by all of us. Especially Ethan and Cambree who is always giving her hugs and kisses to the point of exhaustion on Adalynn's part. She is smiling now and loves to flash a toothless grin as long as you earn it by acting like a total fool making all sorts of weird noises. She loves to snuggle but is also fine just chillin in her crib. There has been many of times I think she is taking a real long nap but instead she is in there just kickin her feet and looking around as happy as can be. She is a good baby and we love her greatly!

Here is Ethan and Cambree giving silly hugs and kisses!
