Pumpkin Patch and Witches NIght Out

I'm a little behind on the Halloween posts but I'm going to post anyway because we had a lot of fun filled with lot's of fun so here are the first of many!
First we went to a pumkin patch and got in some fun pumpkin pickin time as well as some photo ops. Jenny came down with the kids so all the cousins went together with Grandma Barton and had quite the fun knocking over corn stalks, crawling on pumkins, riding in the wagons, and of course picking out pumpkins. Grandma bought all the grandkids a little pumpkin to take home which was very nice and they kids loved it. Thanks Vickie! It was a really fun day!

The next night it was time for some girl time! Gardner Village puts on a witches night for woman only. So Vickie, Jenny, Annie, and I got together for some r&r. We went out to dinner and then to Witches night and toured all the little shops. Vickie got a carmel apple for everyone to share which was very delicous! I have been craving them ever since. It was fun to get out without the kids, well minus the baby. Adalynn came along and slept almost the whole time. She is such a good baby!
By the way, if you can't read the sign very good, the sign reads........YOU Call Me a WITCH like it's a BAD Thing!?....... Hee hee!

Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins with the kids a couple of days before Halloween and they had a blast! It's the first time they got involved in gutting a pumkin. Ethan was all over it but Cambree was a little reserved about touching "yuckies". Once we had all the pumpkin guts out then I drew the faces on them while Todd cut them out. They both showed me how they wanted there face to be. We had a lot of fun together and now can't wait till it get's dark so we can light them up.
All done. The kids were excited to see the final result.

Both of them are so goofy and Very Scary! Here are Todd and I each posing with the kids and our carved pumpkins. In the picture with Todd, the kids decided they wanted to be scary pumkins! I know you all are very frightened!

Ethan and Cambree both are showing their faces to match their pumkins.

Trunk-R-Treating!

We went to our ward trunk-r-treat and the kids had fun! Todd had to work but he got off a little early so that he could be there to help the kids go around to all the trunks! They dressed up in there little costumes. Ethan dressed up as a monkey again this year. I think he thought he didn't have other options but I ran with it because I didn't want to spend money on a different costume. We borrowed Cambree's costume from my friend. Thanks Ali! Cambree dressed up as a Carebear and was lovin the dress up part. She went around once and then wanted to sit and eat a treat. Ethan was a mad man trying to convince his dad to go around "one more time" to get the maximum amount of treats possible. We had fun with our trunk neighbors the Spencers! Karson and Ethan are friends and stuck together trunk-r-treating while Cambree and Konnor exhausted themselves after a bit. Maybe it was the cranky 2 year old symptoms coming through. It was a fun night and we already have too much candy and it's not even Halloween yet!

Adalynn's 6 Weeks!

I'm a little late on this post.
I decided that I would try to take some pics of Adalynn at 6 weeks old. She did so well and is growing so big. I then attempted pictures of the three kids together which was challenging to say the least. I think we got a couple of decent shots. At least as good as they're going to get considering the circumstances.

Adalynn grins alot in her sleep as you can see by one of the pictures below. She seems to focus well on people and just stares straight at you. She is a very gassy baby as some of you have been able to witness(sorry) and can create a bit of stank with some of those toots! Cambree has noticed this and everytime Adalynn toots she responds ...."eeeewww....stinkeeeee....tooter" even if it doesn't stink. She is such a good baby and has been sleeping 6-8 hour stretches during the night. Which is great news for everybody because mom is a lot less grumpy when she gets her sleep. She has been eating well and is infact my best nurser. Or it could be that by baby #3 I am finally getting it down. Who knows.
Ethan and Cambree love her very much and sometimes a little too much! They can sometimes get one inch from her face trying to sing or talk to her and Adalynn gets this confused look on her face as she despretaly tries to focus on who is in front of her. Cambree has had a little bit of jeoulosy issues. She wants to snuggle with mommy of course everytime I feed the baby and sometimes gets mad when I say, "after I feed the baby" so she will try to hit the baby and say "no no baby". Usually I can distract her with a few tricks like being a big helper and throwing the baby's diaper in the garbage or finding her dolly who is crying and needs a snuggle. Ethan has been a big helper. He helps with just about everything. Sometimes I think I ask too much of him because sometimes he will look at me like..'mom...seriously...again' and say with a sigh, "ok"! What a good son he is!
Adalynn is healthy and happy and we are blessed to have her here.

Gotta love that OCTOBER SNOW!?

Can you believe it! It snowed in the middle of October that brought down over a foot of snow at our house.

The kids were so excited in the morning and couldn't wait to get there snow suits and boots on to go out and play in the snow.
Ethan's friend Karson saw Ethan out since our backyards our sort of connected with our other nieghbor and there's no fence and so he came over and played in the snow too. They tried to catch snow flakes on their tongues, made snow angels, had snow ball fights, and then Todd helped Ethan build a snow man "as big as daddy"! They had so much fun and were saddened when it melted a few days later. Gotta love the crazy weather around here!

Adalynn's First Bath

Here are some pics of Adalynn's first bath. She wasn't quite sure about it and cried through most of it. Ethan & Cambree tried to get her to be happy by singing her songs and playing peek-a-boo with her and got quite frustrated when she still cried. I explained to them that babies don't like baths very well and they couldn't understand why not. It wasn't until we wrapped her up in her towl that she was happy.

I also got some pics of her in her jammies afterward with her eyes open. There is another one with her binkie that seems to take up her whole face. It shows how tiny she is I guess.
She is such a good baby and I am blessed. Going insane, but blessed nonetheless!

Adalynn---Coming Home!!

September 13th, after only a week and a day of NICU stay Adalynn came home! We are so happy that she is doing so well and got to come home. She came off oxygen on Thursday and had to prove that she could be off the oxygen without a d-sat and she did!! I was also breastfeeding so going back and forth from the hospital for feedings was getting a little overwhelming. We are so blessed because there are many babies in the NICU that are far worse off and will have such a longer stay. I am thankful that she is well and home.

Ethan and Cambree have been in such a whirlwind the last little whilie with me being on bedrest and then in the hospital and then being gone to the hospital alot. It will be great to get back to normal life again. Although I don't know how normal it will be with now THREE KIDS!!

Both Ethan and Cambree were so happy to have baby sister home!! They are constantly watching the baby moniter and as soon as she makes the littlest noise they get real excited and want to go get her out of her crib. Ethan always wants to hold her and Cambree loves to kiss her head!

Thanks again everyone for all your love and support!!!!

Adalynn Shay Barton has arrived!!!

On September 5th, 2008 at 4:29 pm, Adalynn Shay Barton was born!
She weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz. & 20 inches long, which is big for only being 35 weeks gestation. Just like my other two pregnancies, this one included a bunch of bedrest, a lot of contractions and preterm labor, tons of pain, and a preterm birth. Although I did make it a lot further into my pregnancy without complications than in the past so that was a blessing. I started having contractions at 25 weeks and made it to 27 weeks before I had to be hospitalized for preterm labor. Then had to be hospitalized again at 29 weeks, 31 weeks, 33 weeks, 34 weeks, and then again at 35 weeks which resulted in her birth. I had gone into the doctor for a checkup and I had changed just slightly from the week before (from a 90% efaced and not quite a 1 dialation to 100% efaced and a 1) but hadn't been to much of a change to have to take the baby. I had been doing non stress tests every week since 29 weeks because she was showing signs of stress so after my checkup I went into the room to do a non stress test. I then started to have really hard contractions that kept coming stronger and stronger and at about 3 min apart so I went into the hospital with talk of having to take the baby if the contractions couldn't get under control. So they started an IV and tried to slow down the contractions and I was told that I was under observation. So several hours go by and my contractions start to slow down to about 10-12 min apart and it seemed like my doctor was going to keep observing and eventually send me home. Another couple of hours later my doctor came in and was going to check me again but thought that the contractions couldn't be doing much. And much to her and my surprise I was 100% efaced and dilated to a 2 plus! So in just a short amount of time I had made significant changes and meant that she was going to have to take the baby since I was a repeat twice C-section and could not let me labor any longer for mine and the baby's safety. Within a half hour I was on the operating table and we had our third little bundle of joy!
She immediatly showed signs of a preterm baby and struggled with breathing and was rushed to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). She then had to have an IV put in and was put on oxygen to help her rapid breathing. She has lots of dark hair and is the most beautiful little baby a mother could ask for. Ethan and Cambree are so excited to have a new baby sister but they are confused at why they can't see her because kids are not allowed in the NICU. After Adalynn's IV was taken out 5 days later, and they were able to roll her with her oxygen to the window to meet her brother and sister for the first time. It was such a great moment to see them so happy to see the're new sister but confused why they couldn't give her hugs and kisses. Ethan especially wanted to hold her and not say Hi through a window. He keeps asking why the new baby can't come home. The nurse though was real nice and took poloriods of them saying hi through the window and gave them each one to take home. Ethan was very proud of his picture of his new baby sister! Cambree just quite doesn't understand whats going on yet.
Adalynn is still in the hospital but has gone off oxygen and is doing great so far! She has to prove she can be off oxygen without a d-saturation. If she continues to be off oxygen and does well then hopefully she will come home soon!
Thank you all, family and freinds, for all the thoughts and prayers and all the help everyone has given us!! We could not have gotten her here without everyone's help and support! We appreciate it greatly!!!
